The central idea develops over the course of the text by slowly the situation of the robots beginning to change, such as robots becoming either hostile towards humans or showing usual behavior towards humans, they’re not killing humans, rather becoming untrustworthy and disloyal. It eventually develops to where the robots plan to annihilate the human race into extinction, and this time by using any means. By doing so, there is news about “recent attacks” by hostile robots, planning to end us all. So now it has escalated to a point to where we have to take action and terminate them.
